Collaboration & Team Support
To be successful in the development of large, complex, mission critical systems and software programs, teams of engineers must work together across both time zones & geography as well as across differing engineering disciplines. Teams today are dispersed and with this come many issues that impact project success such as fostering effective communication and artifact reusability.
Using Artisan Studio, architects, system and software engineers can effectively collaborate and Work as One – making the most of Artisan’s powerful multi-user repository to achieve full project consistency. Artisan Studio has built in change-note tracking and Configuration Management which includes private sandboxes with model merge and difference checking. Working in a complex environment, requires the ability to adapt to many different processes and environments. Artisan Studio, has out of the box change management capabilities to share model elements with external partners, use existing both CM and RM tools as well as being compatible with many of the mostpopular CM tools used today. Not only can users store models into external CM tools, but using Studio’s powerful component sharing wizard enables reuse and sharing between partners – for example building a process which enables teams to identify and share components.
Studio also helps to support CMMI processes by allowing users to move elements from Studio to an external CM tool and continue working within Studio as changes are made in the model, the entire team can see the changes either instantly or when requested. When working within a team which has security demands or when company collateral needs to be protected, using the Studio component sharing wizard allows the sharing of only the part of the model necessary – leaving users able to build a live process to protect and share company IP and version control to a large team working on a complex system.
