Components
Often there are design artifacts that need to be shared with related projects or which can be reused with new or independent projects. Often, this involves the harvesting of design components from existing models or the development of design patterns which define a reusable solution to common design problem. Artisan Studio’s Component Sharing Wizard assists engineers in harvesting and reusing design components by providing details of dependencies shared with other parts of the model and maintaining those relationships even when items are not present in a target model.
Use of design patterns is powerful technique whenever a general reusable solution to a commonly occurring problem exists. A solution is designed once and reused often. Design patterns can be defined in Artisan Studio and using the powerful 4G code generator, models can be populated with specific design implementations of these patterns. Patterns are usually associated with software design but these capabilities can also be applied to provide generic architecture solutions.
