Description
- Analysing requirements and developing ideas into proposals
- Estimating and planning tasks, reporting on progress
- Developing and reviewing detailed designs
- Implementing changes and new features
- Working with partners to develop integrated solutions
- Developing test data and assisting with testing when necessary
- Assisting technical author in production of Help and external documentation
- Assisting customer support in diagnosing and solving problems
- Assisting other developers where appropriate
Requirements
This role would be ideally suited to a confident, self-motivated team player with at least 4 years software development experience. Our minimum experience requirements are:
- Degree qualified, 2(ii) minimum, in relevant subject
- At least two years Visual Basic .Net, ideally working on commercial Windows products
- Use of COM/Interop to interface between components
- Windows platform configuration and installation
- Use of Object Oriented design techniques and UML
Skills that we are also particularly hoping to find in the successful candidate include:
- Experience using VBA and Automation interfaces to integrate with Office applications
- Use of UML modelling tools
- C++, C# or Java development
- HTML, XML
- Some experience of Configuration Management, defect tracking or Requirements Management Tools
- Good written and verbal communication skills
