Systems Modeling Using SysML
SysML is fast becoming the de facto modeling standard for systems engineering, but just what is it and where did it come from? Also, what is its relationship to the UML and why should anyone use one over the other?
This introductory webinar aims to provide a broad overview of the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of SysML and covers areas such as: complexity, requirements for any modeling language, the origins of SysML, UML vs SysML, the SysML model, the SysML diagrams, model vs pictures and pragmatic use of SysML.
The webinar also includes a comprehensive list of SysML resources and concludes with an interactive discussion and advice session with the presenter.

The Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF, (UPDM) initiative was started by members of INCOSE and the OMG. UPDM provides a consistent, standardized means to describe DoDAF 1.5 and MODAF 1.2 architectures in SysML/UML-based tools as well as a standard for interchange. The concepts found in the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) such as parametrics, blocks, complex ports, enhanced activity modeling, and cross-cutting constructs improve the state of the art for systems engineers and architects. The formal meta-model basis of UPDM also provides a basis for trade-off analysis, model execution, requirements traceability, and the transition to systems development and implementation. Finally, the interconnections between views can help combat stovepipe development and improve communication. This presentation looks at the current direction of UPDM, how it is improving the state of the art for system architects, and enables interchange of architectural information.

Enterprise architecture is fast emerging as an essential tool for managing business change. Although the idea of an enterprise architecture is an attractive one, how on earth does one actually approach such a massive and daunting undertaking?
This introductory webinar aims to provide a broad overview of the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of enterprise architectures and dispel some of the common myths associated with them. The presentation and discussion covers areas such as: ontologies, meta-models, the importance of process, requirements, views and viewpoints. As well as these key concepts, this webinar will also discuss the concept of architectural frameworks and highlight the pro’s and con’ associated with their practical application.
The webinar also includes a comprehensive list of enterprise architectures resources and concludes with an interactive discussion and advice session with the presenter.

Systems engineering is a discipline that has attracted a lot of interest and much debate in recent years. But what, exactly, do people mean when they refer to ‘systems engineering’ or indeed a ‘systems engineer’?
This introductory webinar aims to provide a broad overview of the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of systems engineering and covers areas such as: complexity, life cycles, the importance of process, systems, projects, systems modeling and systems engineering competency.
The webinar also includes a comprehensive list of systems engineering resources and concludes with an interactive discussion and advice session with the presenter.
